Year End Maintenance being applied to Your Website
Each year-end, docWebTRC modifies your website.  Typically we will change the copyright date found at the bottom of your web pages.  At the same time, we'll review your web page descriptions, meta-tags and titles to make sure these are helping visitors find your website using search engines, like Google.

You may well have received a postcard or letter this year from Google and/or from Microsoft.

This year, Google is making dramatic changes in the way they are compiling and presenting search results This may affect your web site and docWebTRC is paying very close attention.

Among the changes, Google is measuring the amount of time it takes to load a web page.  To address that, we may run a program that will compress all of the images on your website.  They are also doing even more work with what is called "Personal Search."  This process tries to measure where you've been and help present results that are most relative to you.  While there is little we can do to help this sort of thing, we may add a web-icon (see below) for those sites that don't have one. The web icon only appears in the browser window title but may help your visitors find your website easily and quickly.

Several other changes are coming to Google, including the introduction of real-time search.
While most of docWeb's clients don't "tweet", the role of social media is increasing and you may want to consider some of docWebTRC's newest offerings.

DocWeb's Google Description.
Updated Copyrights for all docWeb sites.
These postcards are IMPORTANT and you should let your docWebTRC project manager know if you get one.  They will probably be addressed to John Alders at your business address.

We have found many business listings to be inadequate or contain incomplete information.  In many cases we can update these without doing a confirmation.  For others, we'll need to get the confirmation code from that postcard before we can complete these updates.

These show up in the map and business listings for the search engine Bing and Google

docWeb will update and provide you with a more in depth description of what your site is all about.  This way potential clients will have a much easier time finding their way to your site first.

Updated copyright information is key to keep your site active, keeping the dates current will help your visitors feel that using your site will be beneficial to their needs and a good use of their time.
